Thursday, 11/13/08 - Rumba Con Son, the New Jersey Salsa Band, appears at the The Newark Club, in Newark New Jersey.  The Newark Club is the New Jersey’s most spectacular Ballroom.  This is a private affair sponsored by the New Jersey Hispanic Bar Association.

Friday, 11/14/08 - Rumba Con Son returns to La Cabaña Lounge & Grill at 931 New York Ave. Trenton, NJ 08638.  We rocked the house there with the best of Jersey Salsa a couple of weeks ago and this Friday, we’re back to do it again!

Saturday, 11/15/08 - Jersey Salsa comes to the Roebling Market at 675 S. Clinton, Ave., Trenton, NJ.  This is a new venue for us so we are definitely going to put our best foot forward for this one.

Rumba Con Son rocked the house with Live Salsa and Merengue at Mangos Lounge and Restaurant in Elizabeth NJ on Saturday November 8th.  As usual, Orquesta Rumba Con Son put on a hell of a show at this new venue and we look forward to performing here again very soon.  Mangos is a great place for a night of Salsa Dancing on a Saturday night.

Orquesta Rumba Con Son was selected to play at the wedding of Rebecca and Edwar, two lovely young people, on Saturday, September 27th, 2008.  The wedding and reception were held at the Women’s Club of Englewood New Jersey.

It was a fabulous affair.  The Women’s Club of Englewood is an historic location and suitable for any kind of private party or corporate affair.

Since Edwar is hispanic and his Rebecca is not, it which made for an quite interesting mix at the reception.

Both the Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike were thrilled with the performance of Rumba con Son.  In fact, we just received a letter of thanks from the happy couple which reads as follows:

A special Duet

Orquesta Rumba Con Son, the New Jersey Salsa Band was HOT at the M Cafe in Elizabeth this past Friday night.  We played our Salsa Music as well as we’ve ever played at any venue, yet there was something missing.

The M Cafe Restaurant and Bar is actually quite nice.  It is conveniently located immediately across from the Elizabeth Midtown train station in the historic Central Jersey Railroad Station.  The building itself is beautiful and it is very convenient for people coming by train. It is spacious.  Plenty of room to dance, with nice hardwood floors and a nice bar.  The drinks were a bit pricey for me, but hey, I’m a cheapskate.

So what was the missing ingredient?  An audience.

I guess we didn’t do a good enough job promoting the evening or perhaps there were too many other options available that evening for the New Jersey Salsa Crowd, but we just didn’t have very many people show up.

Don’t get me wrong, the people who were in attendance got our best.  They danced and we appreciated that they were there, and that they had a good time.  It just would have been so much better if there had been more of them.

We’ll be playing this venue again in November.  I hope you can all come out and support the band.  If we play then as well as we played on Friday, you guys will be in for a great show at a great place.
